The Role We are looking for a curious, driven Software Engineering Intern to join our growing engineering team during your NYSC service year. This is not a typical internship where you fetch coffee or do administrative tasks. You will work on real products that impact thousands of customers across Nigeria. You will ship code to production, collaborate with senior engineers, and grow your skills in a fast-paced startup environment.

What You'll Do
- Write clean, maintainable code for our microservices architecture (TypeScript, Python, Node.js, or Go).
- Build and improve APIs that power our loan origination, asset financing, and payment systems.
- Collaborate with product and design teams to understand requirements and deliver features.
- Participate in code reviews and learn engineering best practices from experienced developers.
- Debug issues, investigate production incidents, and improve system reliability.
- Write tests and documentation to ensure code quality.
- Work with databases (PostgreSQL), cloud infrastructure (GCP/Kubernetes), and modern DevOps practices.

Technical Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
- Currently serving or about to commence NYSC.
- Foundational knowledge of at least one programming language (JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Go, or Java).
- Basic understanding of databases (SQL) and RESTful APIs.
- Familiarity with Git and version control workflows.
- Evidence of personal projects, contributions to open source, or hackathon participation is a strong plus.
Nice to Have
- Experience with TypeScript or Node.js.
- Exposure to cloud platforms (GCP, AWS) or containerization (Docker).
- Interest in fintech, clean energy, or Africa's economic development.
